Sharaa: No Lasting Peace With Israel Before Syrian Lands Are Restored

President Ahmad al-Sharaa said during a panel discussion hosted by the Atlantic Council in New York that negotiations with Israel have come close to an agreement, but stressed Israeli forces must first withdraw from Syrian territory occupied after the fall of the Assad regime. He said protecting Syrians’ security and rights must precede any discussion of lasting peace with Israel.
