The Constitutional Council is expected to rule in about 10 days on a challenge seeking to overturn the general amnesty law, adopted last August and contested several weeks ago by the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM).But as tensions rise in Lebanon, particularly in Tripoli, where delays in releasing detainees could prompt their families to take to the streets, Syria has also emerged as a key factor in the case.
