FAO: 7.2 Million People in Syria Face Acute Food Insecurity Welat TV – Erbil The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has warned of persistently high levels of acute food insecurity across the Near East and North Africa, noting that conflicts and economic and climate-related shocks are directly affecting agricultural production and household livelihoods.
Regarding Syria, the organization said in a report published on Wednesday, October 7, that around 7.2 million people were facing acute food insecurity in late 2025.
