About Nawafith
Nawafith is an independent, impartial Syrian initiative that makes public information about Syria available to the public. It currently runs two platforms:
The team works remotely and treats visual design as equal in weight to content.
Responsibilities
- Manage Nawafith's accounts on Instagram, X and Facebook: planning, publishing, engagement and measurement.
- Prepare the weekly publishing plan in coordination with the editorial team.
- Design posts and visual cards, and turn reports and decrees into concise, shareable material.
- Design material for the workshops and events Nawafith organises.
- Monitor comments and messages, and track what is published about Nawafith.
- Produce a monthly performance report with metrics, findings and recommendations.
Working time is split evenly between design and account management.
Qualifications
Required:
- Native written Arabic, and the ability to produce short, error-free copy.
- A portfolio showing experience in visual design and in managing accounts that grew, documented with numbers.
- Familiarity with a dark, editorial visual language built on type and hairlines, without decorative elements.
- Reliability with deadlines.
Preferred:
- Good English, since half of the content is published in both languages.
- Short-form video editing.
- Familiarity with Syrian public affairs.
- Previous experience with events or workshops.
Working arrangements
Fully remote and largely asynchronous, with one weekly meeting. Nawafith provides the subscriptions the work requires, including Figma, Canva, a scheduling tool, and others as needed. The post reports directly to the founder of Nawafith and works daily with the editorial team.
The engagement opens with a three-month trial period, paid at the agreed rate, reviewed by both sides at its end.
